This research based from the circumstances in BHAKTI BUNDA PADANG kindergartner’s ability to arrange
alphabets into words and picture reading that still need to be developed accordingly. Therefore, to stimulate this
development, alphabets pictorial card is used. The purpose of this research is to find the impact of alphabets
pictorial card, on children’s initial reading ability at Bhakti Bunda Padang kindergarten.This research uses a
quantitative approach with the type of Quasy Experiment research. The purposive sampl ing consisted of an
experimental class of 14 kindergartner and a control class of 14 kindergartner. Data collection techniques use
observation and documentation. Research data analysis techniques use difference test (t-test). The results showed
that the hypothesis was accepted. It means that the results of the experimental class are better than the control
class. The conclusion of this research is alphabets pictorial card impacting on children’s initial reading ability at Bhakti Bunda Padang kindergarten.
